the "wings of spring" collection
"Wings of Spring" is a collection of original oil paintings celebrating the delicate wildlife of Southern California: butterflies, birds, and native flowers observed in the quiet, fleeting moments of the season. Soft skies, calm waters, and the gentle warmth of spring light weave through each piece, creating a sense of stillness that feels both familiar and meditative. Each painting is an invitation to slow down and find beauty in the small, living wonders that surround us.
The collection releases June 12th, and I couldn't be more excited to finally share it with you.

Shorebirds
This painting captures the soft blues of Ventura in their unique beauty. Misty skies, calm waters, and cool mountains roll into one another, as shorebirds take delicate steps, wandering through the wet sand on a light breeze.

Blue Herons Under Pink Sky
Great blue herons are graceful, strong, and patient. In this painting, pastel skies, elegant birds, and soft grasses pull the viewer into a dreamlike vision of a quiet moment at a salt marsh. Contrasted detail and openness, cool blues and warm pinks, work in harmony to instill peace and calm.

Monarchs on Milkweed
This piece is a reflection on a monarch's metamorphosis, circulating around a milkweed plant. Observe the monarch through its seasons of life: an adult butterfly lands gracefully on pink blooms, lays little eggs to rest on a leaf below, which become a caterpillar who munches through the leaves of the plant, to then build and transform in its chrysalis towards the bottom, emerge on the left, shake out its wings and take flight as a butterfly again.

Rufous Hummingbird at Sunrise
While a hummingbird's wings beat 50-60 times a second, this painting is meant to capture one of those fleeting moments for the human eye to appreciate. The intention was for the viewer to experience a moment of peace, warmth and enjoyment of the beauty of the bird's morning flight.

Monarchs at Sunset
In this painting, two monarchs embark on a sunset flight with upward drifting clouds. The directionality is intended to inspire a feeling of warmth and possibility.

a bit about the artist
I'm a southern California oil painter inspired by quiet moments in nature. Iām drawn to butterflies and birds for their delicate movements, which feel like brief pauses in time for mindful reflection. Through detailed brushwork, I capture light, color, and motion to create a peaceful pause on canvas, inviting the viewer to slow down and connect with the world around them.
